General description

The implementation of this activity is based on the results obtained during the NATUREMED project, which was used to determine a set of strategic actions to increase and improve the presence of green spaces and the respective renaturation strategies of the cities of Jerash, Bethlehem and Saida, and to promote the training of town hall staff in relation to the planning and management of green spaces. The HERA project implements a pilot in each city to demonstrate the beneficial effects that green spaces and elements have on the city’s day-to-day life.

Specifically, a project to improve one of the city’s climate shelters will be implemented in Jerash. In Bethlehem, a street will be naturalized in order to promote active mobility and the presence of shade on the street. In Saida, a small park will be built to encourage the use of public spaces and provide citizens with a climate shelter

  • Increase the presence of green infrastructure in Jerash, Bethlehem and Saida based on the set of strategic actions determined in each of the cities.
  • Promote training and the exchange of experiences between the project councils and other MedCities members interested in promoting and improving green spaces in the cities.

participation of Mediterranean municipality members of MedCities.
