The Municipality of Larnaca carried out a workshop on 12th of March 2013 at PA College, in Larnaca. Forty seven participants attended this event.
The scope of the workshop was focused on the environment, which was presented by the Municipal Service and the Local Team of external experts. Nowadays, environmental aspects play a very important role in all the institutional levels of our society. Therefore, the current environmental situation and the challenges facing Larnaca were examined.
The citizen’s point of view and the society’s opinion had a significant impact throughout the whole process of developing USUDS’s workshops. The discussion included the environmental wealth and the need for proper management, for sustainability and green growth. The need for classifying environmental issues as priorities in each development project was also discussed, in order to strengthen the “environmental” aspect so that it is an important factor in decision making.
In the framework of the Med4Waste project, more than 50 participants took part in the project’s seminar entitled “Towards sustainable models of local governance for integrated and circular policies for urban waste management" that took place in Mahdia.
MedCities participated in the ENSERES capitalization event in Tyre and had the opportunity to share the outcomes with member cities in a fruitful visit with different Lebanese representatives.
A two day training was organized with Irbid Municipality in order to exchange and learn about the fundamentals of energy audit, which were the lessons learned from Irbid municipality when auditing their municipal buildings.
