Last 17th of December 2014, MedCities participated in the UfM Working Group on Urban Development, held at the headquarters of the UfM Secretariat, Barcelona.
The main aims of the meeting were to review the developments since the previous Working Group held on 28th April 2014, namely progress made regarding the Urban Projects Finance Initiative (UPFI), and to discuss the TUDD’s Work Programme 2015 in the area of urban development.
The event was chaired by Deputy Secretary General Amb.Yigit Alpogan, and it represented the sixth meeting of the UfM Working Group on Urban Development.
MedCities participates since the beginnings in the meetings of this UfM Working Group.
In the framework of the Med4Waste project, more than 50 participants took part in the project’s seminar entitled “Towards sustainable models of local governance for integrated and circular policies for urban waste management" that took place in Mahdia.
MedCities participated in the ENSERES capitalization event in Tyre and had the opportunity to share the outcomes with member cities in a fruitful visit with different Lebanese representatives.
A two day training was organized with Irbid Municipality in order to exchange and learn about the fundamentals of energy audit, which were the lessons learned from Irbid municipality when auditing their municipal buildings.
