In the framework of the KTC Sfax, MedCities network will support the city of Sfax on the preparation and launching of the new municipal website, a tool that aims to improve the communication channels between the local government and the citizens and to promote transparency and local democracy
In order to do so, the new website will have a specific part, the Citizen Portal, which will allow citizens to manage online some of their interactions with the Municipality, such as reclaims, building permissions etc. Furthermore, the website will allow greater transparency regarding administrative procedures; the function of the municipal government and its structure as well as practical information on the public services offered. Especially, the website will promote exchange between the municipal services, the citizens and the users of public services and will inform on local partners of the city (especially associations).
The city of Sfax will launch the procedure in the following days and the new website is expected to be finalised by the end of March 2016.
This technical assistance is provided in the frame of the project for the consolidation of the KTC of Sfax, with funding from the Municipality of Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona.
