From September 24 to October 3, the project team of the “City Development Strategy of Sousse” put in place a process of citizen participation in the city to determine their priorities for its future development. Thus, a communication campaign was implemented, including outdoor advertising and an advertising campaing on the web www.strategie-sousse.com

Under the slogan “Give an idea if you are interested in the future of Sousse! “(فكرة منك كان مستقبل سوسة يهمك), citizens were invited to answer a questionnaire in order to prioritize the objectives and projects developed by the project team. Citizens could participate either through the website and social networks like Facebook or Twitter either in situ in the mobile stand for participation.

Due to time constraints, and given the imminent start of the election campaign in Tunisia (which officially began in October 3), it was decided to shorten the first phase of civic participation in order to don’t interfere with political issues. Other actions will be implemented after November 4 (including meetings with inhabitants).

For this first step, the results are below expectations. Indeed, only about 1300 people answered the questionnaire in the stand and 163 users have validated their prioritizations online, over 800 connections to the site and more than 3,100 fans on Facebook. (Those are figures of the 3rd October, while the web campaign is still ongoing.)

The questionnaires will now be analyzed by the technical team in charge of the project and the first results will be announced in the coming weeks.

For those who have not yet gave their opinion, the online survey is still available.
