As agreed by the last Steering Committee of MedCities held on June 16th 2014 in Sfax (Tunis), the next General Assembly of Medcities will take place on 13rd-14th November 2014, in Izmir (Turkey), with the suport of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
The morning of the first day will be dedicated to the Medcities´ General Assembly matters, as usual. The afternoon and the morning of the second day, there will be a workshop dedicated to discuss on networking actions agreed in the morning, on opportunities, as the funding programs of different institutions (Europeans, etc.) and on the possibilities of partnerships in the presentation of projects among the participants.
Some further working groups on different key matters (coastal management, fight against poverty, energy, sustainable tourism, floods, etc.) will be developed in order to identify multipartnership projects proposals.
In a few weeks, we will upload further information about the Assembly and the Workshop including a call to present some initiatives to be discussed at the workshop.
In the framework of the Med4Waste project, more than 50 participants took part in the project’s seminar entitled “Towards sustainable models of local governance for integrated and circular policies for urban waste management" that took place in Mahdia.
MedCities participated in the ENSERES capitalization event in Tyre and had the opportunity to share the outcomes with member cities in a fruitful visit with different Lebanese representatives.
A two day training was organized with Irbid Municipality in order to exchange and learn about the fundamentals of energy audit, which were the lessons learned from Irbid municipality when auditing their municipal buildings.
