On November 21st, MedCities and ASCAME (Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to frame the cooperation between the two institutions.
On November 21st, Mr. Mohamed Choucair, president of ASCAME and Mr. Ramon Torra, Manager of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, acting as General Secretariat of MedCities, signed in Barcelona a Memorandum of Understanding between both institutions in order to reinforce their cooperation. This is the concretion of a long path of cooperation between both Secretariats, particularly engaged in the promotion of sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.
ASCAME and MedCities will share knowledge and best practices through their respective technological platforms and will ensure the dissemination of the activities of the two institutions among its members. This agreement is strategic in order to assure the commitment of the private sector in the design of urban development strategies in the Mediterranean, which turns into an increase of the value of these processes and underpin their successful implementation.
In the framework of the Med4Waste project, more than 50 participants took part in the project’s seminar entitled “Towards sustainable models of local governance for integrated and circular policies for urban waste management" that took place in Mahdia.
MedCities participated in the ENSERES capitalization event in Tyre and had the opportunity to share the outcomes with member cities in a fruitful visit with different Lebanese representatives.
A two day training was organized with Irbid Municipality in order to exchange and learn about the fundamentals of energy audit, which were the lessons learned from Irbid municipality when auditing their municipal buildings.
