Mufti Dr. Aziz ef. Hasanovic, President of the Meshihat of Islamic Community in Croatia, presented Mayor Andro Vlahusic with an award recognizing the Mayor’s exceptional contribution to the development and strengthening of religious diversity and cultural identity, particularly regarding the Muslim community in Croatia.

The award ceremony was held in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the legal institutionalization of Islam in the Republic of Croatia.

Along with the City of Dubrovnik, awards were also presented to the Office of the President, Croatian Parliament, the City of Zagreb, the City of Rijeka and to the Diyanet of the Republic of Turkey.

Awards were also presented for contributions based on the continuous development, strengthening and promotion of the mission and vision of the Islamic community in Croatia, for the exceptional contribution towards the development and strengthening of educational institutions of the Islamic community in Croatia, and to the exceptional contribution for developing and strengthening of communities and the institutionalized networking of Muslims in the Republic of Croatia with the vertical spiritualism of the Reis-ul-Ulema in Sarajevo, alongside the contribution towards the development and strengthening of religious diversity and cultural identity.
