This will be a twinning event between projects aiming to search for common actions and synergies to face challenges.

MedCities, as part of the URWAN project, will take place in the twinning and exchange event between both projects.

The common partner of both projects, Energy and Water Agency (EWA) is a Maltese policy agency responsible for developing national policies in the energy and water sectors. In the URWAN project, EWA plays a crucial role by leading the development of the framework for the project’s Living Labs, which are essential for testing and implementing nature-based solutions (NBS). EWA also contributes to the project’s “catalogue of actions” with insights from its previous initiatives and drafts key policy recommendations to promote the adoption of NBS across the Mediterranean. Additionally, EWA supports the development of training kits to help local authorities effectively implement and manage NBS.

The CARDIMED is a project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme focused on boosting Mediterranean climate resilience through widespread adoption of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) across regions and communities

The URWAN project is a pioneering initiative co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Euro-Med programme. Our mission is to showcase innovative solutions for adapting to climate change and addressing water scarcity through a participatory, nature-based approach. By engaging with local stakeholders and implementing multifunctional strategies that integrate sustainability, aesthetics, and social impact, URWAN aims to redefine urban water management.

About CARDIMED: CARDIMED uses technology to make it easier for people to collect and share data about Nature-based Solutions and Climate Resilience.

Digital tools allow citizens to get involved and learn more. We want to bring together many different groups to share what they know and make a positive impact and understand how water, energy, food, and ecosystems are connected.
