The Municipality of Larnaca carried out a workshop on 8th of April 2013 at PA College, in Larnaca. Fifty two participants attended this event.
The objective of the workshop was to assess the urban characteristics of Larnaca having as background the existing Local Plan of Larnaca. The presentation of the workshop was made by the Local Team of external experts. The purpose of the workshop was to assess the current situation and identify the problems and prospects that will lead to sustainable development strategies.
The citizens and society were widely involved expressing their opinions during the workshop. The discussion included topics such as the system planning, land use, planning zones, road network, ownership, conservation and a trade centre.
MedCities is one of the new beneficiaries of the City Climate Finance Gap Fund’s strand for the capacity development of regional or national networks of municipalities. MedCUC targets municipalities and local governments of the Mediterranean from countries covering 3 geographical zones.
