In order to reinforce the links among the community of modular projects selected and the PANACeA partners, a Kick off Meeting will be held in Villa Méditerrannée in Marseille on 15th and 16th of March 2017.

The PANACeA Project aims at streamlining networking and management efforts in Mediterranean Protected Areas (PAs) as a mechanism to enhance nature conservation and protection in the region. MedCities is a partner of PANACeA, a horizontal project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg Med Programme.

One of the main objectives of PANACeA is to bring together projects and institutions working on similar issues to identify common working areas, avoid duplication of efforts and multiply the impact of project results and events by extending their outreach. Networking and cooperation among biodiversity protection projects and people are essential.

The PANACeA partners from 9 modular projects – AMAre – ACT4LITTER – CONFISH – ECOSUSTAIN – FISHMPABLUE2 – MEDSEALITTER – MPA-ADAPT – POSBEMED – WETNET – will meet with their associated partners, the Interreg Med Programme Joint Secretariat and the PANACeA team to move forward a better equipped Mediterranean community on biodiversity protection.

This meeting is a key component in the design and implementation of PANACeA’s activities and deliverables. It will present the action plans for communication, community building and capitalization, and will entail interactive sessions and networking opportunities to start creating synergies and cross‑fertilization between the projects.
