Agia Paraskevi

The Municipality of Agia Paraskevi is located in the northeastern part of Athens, approximately 9 km from the city center. Administrative Region of Attica (North Sector).

Sitting comfortably between the urban web of the Athens Metropolitan Area and the magnificent natural habitat of mountain Hymettus, the municipality of Agia Paraskevi boasts a population of 62.147* in an area of 7.935 km².

History ,Culture and Nature

Originally part of the ancient deme of Phlya has been inhabited since 508 B.C.

Hosting one of the largest Cultural Festivals in the region of Attica together with various local cultural & art groups.

Accommodating the campus of the oldest and largest non-state higher education institution in Greece.

Well connected to the mountain, offering stunning views, promenades in the forest and favorite spots for activities like mountain bike and trail running.

City’s objectives:

  • Fostering the extroversion of Agia Paraskevi through synergies & close collaboration with the other members of the association.
  • Strengthening international collaboration through the transfer of know-how, exchange of best practices and implementation of projects & action programs oriented towards achieving the goals of sustainable development.
  • Looking for greater regional cooperation, innovation and sustainable urban development in the Mediterranean region and the improvement of the quality of life.
