The RAMUD project (Réseau d’Action en matière de Mobilité Urbaine Durable) is an initiative to promote knowledge exchange on transport issues among different cities of the Mediterranean.

Under the scope of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), the “Action Network on Sustainable Urban Mobility” project aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation between Mediterranean countries by establishing a network to exchange experiences, with the following key objectives in mind:

• Focussing local development on creating a sustainable model of urban transport, by establishing specific, concrete aims that contribute to reducing pollution and improving energy efficiency.

• Promoting planning and follow-up, and establishing urban mobility policies that include the criteria for environmental, economic and social sustainability.

• Strengthening good governance, increasing input from local expertise, coordinating with municipal governments and providing outreach and education to encourage the use of sustainable urban transport.
