Al-Qalamoun (Arabic: القلمون) is a coastal municipality in northern Lebanon, located in the Tripoli District of the North Governorate, approximately 5 kilometers south of Tripoli city center along the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

It spans a relatively small area of about 2 km². It has an estimated population of around 4,000 Lebanese residents (as of 2015 estimates), serving as a residential and seaside community within the broader Tripoli metropolitan region.
As part of the Al-Fayhaa Urban Community (also a MedCities member) is Lebanon’s second-largest urban agglomeration after Beirut, encompassing Tripoli, Mina, Beddawi, and Al-Qalamoun, and bordered by the districts of Danniyeh to the east, Zgharta to the northeast, and Koura to the north, the town joined the union in July 2014 via Decree No. 150/2014, enhancing local governance and development coordination across the 33 km² area. The community is home to a diverse population of Lebanese residents alongside Syrian and Palestinian refugees, reflecting the region’s role in hosting displaced populations amid regional conflicts.

Al-Qalamoun features typical Mediterranean coastal elements, including beaches and proximity to maritime activities, and has been involved in local infrastructure projects overseen by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), such as urban rehabilitation efforts. The municipality participates in regional emergency preparedness, exemplified by joint exercises with the Lebanese Armed Forces and civil defense units to simulate maritime rescues and evacuations. Its location near the Syrian border and the Qalamoun Mountains has historically positioned it within Lebanon’s northern geopolitical dynamics, though it remains primarily a quiet suburban extension of Tripoli
