Al-Mi’rad, situated atop the Ajloun Mountains to the east and falling under the jurisdiction of the Jerash Governorate, the Al-Mi’rad area holds agricultural classification, boasting abundant olive trees, almonds, and various vegetables. Most of its residents are engaged in governmental occupations. It has 75.000 inhabitants, in addition to

40.000 of a Palestinian refugee camp and 3.000 Syrian refugees.

Al-Mirad characterized by its mountainous nature with diverse vegetation, and is surrounded by forest trees, in addition to the presence of nature reserves such as: Dibbin Reserve, Deer Reserve, and Al Ma’wa Reserve for Wildlife animals.

Al-Mirad city is distinguished by:

• Its strategic location as it is connected between two governorates (Jerash and Ajlon)

• It is a destination for tourists from inside and outside the country. Natural forests and reserves surround it.

–Infrastructure: Faces significant pressure due to rapid population growth and challenging geographical nature (mountains and valleys).

–Transportation: Need to improve road networks and transportation services.

–Rainwater Drainage: Issues with water drainage during heavy rainfall seasons.

– Green Areas Protection: From fires, tree cutting, and unregulated recreational activities.

– Waste Management: Need to develop waste management systems to keep pace with urban expansion.

–Nature Reserves: Preservation of biodiversity in forests and natural reserves.
