This 10-13 July, the City of Malaga, the CIEDES Foundation, CIFAL Malaga and the International University of Andalusia held a summer course on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. 

MedCities Secretary General Xavier Tiana participated in the course, presenting on the topic of the Union for the Mediterranean Urban Agenda for regional cooperation on sustainable urban development, adopted in May 2017.

The SG also presented on MedCities, its main activities and projects, as part of a round table in which the General Director of Town Planning of Andalusia Council, Alejandro Márquez, presented the Urban Agenda project for Andalusia.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in 2015, sets out a global framework to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development by 2030.
