The ProcuraMED project has brought together around sixty public administrations and companies in an information day to explore the latest developments and opportunities in green public procurement (CPV) and public procurement of innovation (PPI) in the territory. The event, held on 26 March at the offices of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, also served to present the project’s training course on this subject, aimed at municipalities and SMEs.

During the first part of the session, several public institutions linked to the Government of Catalonia presented recent initiatives to promote the CPV and the ICC: 

María José Sarrias, head of the environmental qualification service of the Directorate General for Climate Change and Environmental Quality of the Generalitat de Catalunya, presented the Green Public Procurement Action Plan 2022-2025, which focused on the incorporation of environmental criteria in public contracts. 

Daniel Marco, Director of Innovation at the Centre for Telecommunications and Information Technologies (CTTI), presented GovTech Catalunya, a new digital innovation programme for startups and public administrations. 

Teresa Guerrero, head of the Department for the Promotion of Selective Collection of the Catalan Waste Agency, has shared a pilot experience of CPI for the improvement of municipal waste collection. 

Anna Monistrol, senior innovation consultant at ACCIÓ, detailed the different support services that ACCIÓ offers to companies in the Public Procurement of Innovation processes and Green Innovation projects. 

Finally, Noé Viedma, international projects technician at MedCities, and Caterina Sampol, expert consultant in PPI, presented the training course on Green and Innovative Public Procurement, which will take place between April and May. Organised by MedCities in collaboration with ACCIÓ, the course offers 15 places for municipalities and 15 for SMEs, to promote the adoption of the CPV and the CPI in local administrations and companies.
