MedCities and the Agency of Economic Development of Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) are organising the BLUEFasma Living Labs, one of the main knowledge transferring tools of the BLUEFasma project, from Interreg-Med, which aims at increasing the innovation capacity of various actors of the fishing and aquaculture sector in the Mediterranean Area.
The BLUEFasma Living Labs will include different activities that will be built in base of the demands from different sectors, collected during the interview phase (where the auto-evaluation tools for the circular economy index were tested), and the possible improvement areas detected through the circular economy index.
To answer those needs, MedCities and AMB will organise two formative sessions dedicated mainly to the retail and wholesales sector, in which topics such as packaging use, food waste, use of electric vehicles or the increase of efficient energy and use of green energy will be treated.
In order to adapt as much as possible to the needs of each actor of the value chain, these sessions will address the different topics adapted to the needs of retailers and wholesalers by separate.
The meetings will include the participation of experts in each topic, as well as a wide range of practical examples and financing opportunities in each one of the described topics.
Circular economy index
BLUEfasma has as an objective to increase the innovation capacity of the fishing and aqüiculture sector in the mediterranean area, and to do so, the project has developed a tool for the self- evaluation of the circular economy index, which has been tested through a series of interviews to different actors along the value chain of fishing and aquaculture in the coast of the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
The BLUEfasma, one of the modular projects of Interreg Med, which belongs to the Blue Growth community, is led by University of Patras and 12 more european partners from the mediterranean region are participating. Among those, MedCities is the partner in charge of the capitalisation of the project, and AMB is an associated partner.
This project contributes to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, and answers mainly to goals number 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 17.
