In the frame of the AI-NURECC initiative, a 18 months project co-financed by the EU, the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Cities (FAIC), operated by the Municiplaity of Ancona, organized the workshop «Cities and Cultural Heritage. Ideas and best practices for the Adriatic and Ionian Region», it took placed in Mostar (BiH) on 10th April 2019.
The event represented an outstanding opportunity for the capitalisation of international projects, the development of common initiatives and the exchange of best practices in the field of sustainable tourism and cultural heritage at EU level. The session counted with the participation of experts and representatives of local authorities, EU institutions, universities and HEIs, NGOs and CSOs.
The event was complementary to the participation of the FAIC at the International Economic Fair of Mostar from 9 to 11 April. The conclusion pointed to emphasise the crucial role played by cultural and historical heritage in tourism development, stimulating integrated and innovative solutions among EUSAIR Cities in particular.
