MedCities participated in representation of ValEUr Gabès project in the first brainstorming meeting organised by WES-MED and targeting the 7 demonstration projects on efficient use of water that were approved for funding. The event aimed at presenting the 7 project and identifying possible synergies and common points of interest between these and 4 others, previously funded and already finalised demostration projects.

MedCities participated, last February 23, in a roundtable where the key challenges for the successful implementation of the project were presented and a debate was launched about how the monitoring process offered by WES-MED could facilitate the delivery of the results of the project. This debate, among the 7 projects, allowed to better understand the scope and geographical focus of all projects and identify possible future synergies and echanges among them. Although ValEUr Gabès is still in a very initial stage, this event was valueable in order to understang the support mechanism offered by WES-MED in order to integrate it in the project.

Funded by the EU Delegation in Tunisia, ValEUr Gabès aims at the recovery and valorisation of urban rainwater and will be implemented in the city of Gabès for the upcoming 28 months.
