The municipalities of Tetuan and Tangier hosted the first meetings of the working group with stakeholders for the organisation of the job fairs that will gather young job seekers and enterprises in both cities.

The initiative was very welcomed by the local stakeholders active in the field of professional training, guidance and integration of youngsters in the labour market. In both meetings, local actors agreed on the importance of this event to close the gap between the labour market and the youngsters, providing them with an opportunity to obtain a job and/or refocus their professional career. The fairs should enable, apart from job opportunities, a space to support professional guidance and entrepreneurship among youngsters.

The next meeting of the working groups will take place in the coming weeks to work over a programme of activities within the fair. The fairs will take place in May in Tetuan and in September in Tangier. The target is to get to at least 600 youngsters in both cities.

During the mission, on the 6 and 7 March, we also visited the business incubator run by the Association of Women Business Leaders of Morocco (Association des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises du Maroc de la région Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, AFEM-TTA) and explore a possible collaboration in the framework of the project activity that aims to support 15 green entrepreneurship projects of young women.

The TT-EMPLOI project seeks to provide training and employment opportunities for youth and women and reinforce the role of municipalities in the promotion of local employment, professional training, guidance and entrepreneurship.
