The cities of Bethlehem and Saida will partner with MedCities to develop this project, funded and supported by the Barcelona City Council.

This project aims to increase the resilience of our member cities at different levels. In the case of Bethlehem, the city will work towards increasing its economic resilience. To do so, the project will focus on increasing the capacities of women to enhance their business planning and management capacity, and providing psychological relief to its youth population through group activities promoting arts and crafts. Barcelona City Council will be actively involved in this collaboration by providing links with their economic-promotion institute, Barcelona Activa, with many programs and good practices that will surely be useful for its potential future replication.

In the case of Saida, the project will involve collaboration with UNHabitat and their City Resilience Proofing Tool Methodology, which together with the resilience department of Barcelona City Council, will help to map the risks the city of Saida is facing, and determine some actions to decrease some of its detected vulnerabilities, providing a City Resilience Plan in the near future.
