MEDITERRANEAN Dialogues + 25 “LOCATING THE SDGS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION:ALLIANCES FOR A SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION ” On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Process (1995-2020), the Generalitat de Catalonia, in collaboration with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), promotes the “Mediterranean Dialogues +25” cycle. As part of this initiative, they will be organized different conferences on central issues aimed at renewing the vision of the Euro-Mediterranean relations, and to present concrete proposals. This conference which closes the cycle will address the issue of the implementation of the Objectives of Sustainable Development (SDGs) in the Mediterranean region, entering a decade a crucial period for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. In the Mediterranean region, the implementation of the Development GoalsSustainable Development (SDGs) is especially needed as this area presents difficulties chronic political, economic, social and environmental issues that worsen inequalities and development gaps between and within their countries. The 2030 Agenda of The UN is a unique opportunity to improve well-being, inclusion, peace and security security of Mediterranean communities and territories. The cross-cutting approach it gives this global agenda is especially useful for tackling various challenges common tofacing all countries in the region and provide an opportunity to open spaces for interaction and better cooperation.MedCities’ Secretary General, Mr. Josep Canals Molina, will be present during the event.
