MedCities was pleased to participate in the 1st Multi-Programme Projects Dialogue on Energy in Tunisia as part of EUSEW2026, contributing to an important exchange on energy, sustainability and Mediterranean cooperation.

The event, inspired by the cooperation fostered through the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM) created an inspiring space for dialogue between policy-makers, researchers, project leaders, experts and local stakeholders, connecting project results with emerging policy frameworks and strengthening cooperation across the region.

As a Sustainable Energy Day under EUSEW2026, the dialogue highlighted the importance of clean energy, energy efficiency and collaborative approaches to accelerate the energy and climate transition in the Mediterranean.

MedCities was invited as a partner of the Community 4 Living Areas Project (Interreg Euro MEd) and participated in the first panel session on Governance and policy frameworks for the Mediterranean energy and climate transition, showcasing our work, projects and initiatives across the region, while highlighting the added value of city networks.

At MedCities, we aim to act as a catalyst for dialogue and joint action in the Mediterranean. Because despite the diversity of realities, cultures and local contexts, the region shares a common challenge: advancing towards more resilient, sustainable and inclusive communities while responding to climate change. The added value of the work of the local authorities network is to create spaces for cooperation, exchange between Mediterranean territories facing similar challenges grounded in mutual learning and trust. Our strength indeed lies in connecting experiences, facilitating the transfer of practical solutions between peers.
