Within the efforts to fight COVID-19 The Union of Dannieh Municipalities formed fourteen committees to deal with all aspects of the disease.
The union also signed a joint cooperation agreement with the University within the project «Balamand – My Life Against Corona» to conduct a comprehensive survey of the population about the symptoms of Corona and provide a free PCR examination according to the application diagnosis.

A public consultation was therefore organized on Saturday 16 November to introduce the project, and assess the social acceptability of the project, including the potential impacts and positive outcomes, to the main stakeholder.
MedCities, IRIDRA and SVI.MED had the opportunity to participate in a study visit in Barcelona. Organised within the framework of the URWAN project, the objective of this study visit was to explore the Nature Based Solutions (NBS) and other sustainable water management solutions carried out by the Municipality of Barcelona to tackle the typical challenges faced by many Mediterranean cities: drought and the resulting flash floods.
MedCities aims to promote city-to-city learning and the thematic working groups are an enriching and trust-based opportunity for it. In this regard, the 2024 work plan focuses in a peer–to-peer programme that consists in inviting two cities of the group to share a concrete challenge related to their local mobility policies or project. The takers (Takers of advice) are the municipalities of Rethymno and Agadir.
