MedCities participated in the virtual meeting of the Spanish cooperation stakeholders in Tunisia, organised by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation.
MedCities was present at the first meeting of the Spanish cooperation partners in Tunisia in order to showcase its initiatives in the country. The meeting was organised on April 12th by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID) and gathered decentralised cooperation agencies, associations, and international cooperation NGOs.
As a first meeting, it served to give an overview of the international cooperation projects that the Spanish stakeholders are implementing in the country, by presenting an overview of the subjects, geographic areas, and funding institutions involved. The AECID also presented the regional programme for the Arabic world, Masar Al’an, including the MedCities NaturIncMed initiative implemented in three different countries, Jordan, Tunisia, and Lebanon. MedCities also gave an overview of the EU-funded projects A’SIMA Tunis, ValEUr Gabès and MAIS.
The meeting was an opportunity to understand the plurality of actions and the Spanish cooperation undertakes in the country, while the stakeholders also had the opportunity to engage in a broader discussion on how their projects have been adapted due to the changing institutional landscape.
